SIGHTSEEING AND TIPS
THE ISLAND

Ile d'Oléron has much to offer. Breathtaking fields of corn and cattle, quiet coastal roads, pretty villages and gorgeous beaches. There is a sunday market in the village of Le Chateau. Theme markets are organized throughout the tourist season.

GROCERY SHOPPING

The village of Domino is a short distance away from Holidaypark l'Accolade.

During summer there is a daily market where you can buy freshly caught fish, fresh fruits and vegetables and meats.  In the tourist season you will also find local delicacies.

There is a small bakery for daily fresh bread and, in high-season, a modest supermarket for your basic necessities.

Foreign newspapers, telephonecards, stamps, tabaco and such are available at the tabaco store in St. Pierre, capital of Ile d'Oleron. At St.Pierre there are big supermarkets and there are some nice terraces on the main shopping street. St. Pierre is located on 7 km. distance of Holidaypark l'Accolade.

BEACHES

The Charente-Maritime region boasts as many as 100 beaches,  spread along the coastline and the easily accessible islands that lie just off the Atlantic coast. The nearest beach is 600 meters from our park.  The dune transit is adapted to wheelchair users.

There are two beach wheelchairs available on l'Accolade. Beaches are reasonably quiet, even in high-season.

RESTAURANTS

Ile d'Oléron is culinary known for its oysters. A 'must try'. You will also find 'Fruits de mer' on practically every menu on the island. There are many nice restaurants to be found on the island. We can recommend quite a few, so please make sure to ask!
